Gordon Edward Mozingo, 76, went to join his wife, whom he had missed so dearly, Bonnie Futrelle Mozingo (2019) in their Heavenly Home Wednesday morning.
Gordon was retired from the Lee Plant of Carolina Power & Light. He was a member of Stoney Creek FWB Church, where he was a Deacon and had served on a number of committees. Gordon was the one they could count on to fix anything that needed to be repaired at the church or on the church grounds. He loved cooking for the Men’s Prayer Breakfast and enjoyed the time of fun and fellowship with his brothers in Christ. He also served as the Superintendent of the Sunday School Primary Department where enjoyed recognizing the children on their birthday. After his retirement, he enjoyed driving the buses for the Athletic Department of Mt. Olive University and getting to know the athletes.
He is survived by his loving children, Dawn Mozingo Gardner and Christopher “Chris” Mozingo; the apple of his eye, Anna-Gordon, whom he considered his very best buddy; two brothers, Linwood Mozingo (Sandra) and Jerry Mozingo (Becky); and a sister, Cheryl Mozingo Benton (Benny).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Geneva Hicks Mozingo and Bruce Luby Mozingo, Sr., and his brothers, Bruce Luby Mozingo, Jr. and Daniel Mozingo.
