Ruth Bogue Davis Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Ruth Bogue Davis, 99, formally of Pikeville died Friday. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, February 2 at 1:00 PM at Wayne Memorial Park, 2925 Hwy 117 South, Dudley. The Rev. Rose Hicks will officiate. Mask and social distancing are required. The family will receive other family members from 11 am to 12:30 pm at Evergreen Funeral Home, 3888 Hwy 70 West, Goldsboro. Surviving are a daughter, Pamela D. Bennett and husband Ron of Newport, sons Everett L. Davis and wife Ann of Wendell and Richard H. Davis and wife Cheryl of Beaufort. Grandchildren: Debra Davis of Apex, Amanda D. Sudekum and husband Dave of Fremont, Kelly D. Nance and her husband Michael of Concord, Jason B. Bradshaw and wife Tracy of Wilson, William B. Davis of Rocky Point and Christopher L. Bennett of Raleigh. Great-Grandchildren: Kaitlyn Bradshaw, Joshua Bradshaw, Liam Bradshaw, Kennedy Bradshaw, Grace Nance, Leah Nance, Chase Kelly and Jaxon Kelly. A native of Wayne County, she spent most of her life with her late husband Lewis Davis in the Pikeville community. She was the daughter of the late Hettie Davis Bogue and William Arthur Bogue. Proceeded in death by her siblings: Wilbert Bogue, Sallie B. Futrell, Marvin Bogue, Margaret B. Batts, Irene B. Hamrick, Grace B. Reid, Doris B. Parris, Eloise B. Futrell, Myra B. Horton and Minnie B. Eloshway and a daughter-in-law Jody K. Davis. Mrs. Davis was an member of St. Joseph United Methodist Church where she had been active in the United Methodist Women and had served on numerous Boards and Committees for the church. She volunteered at Wayne Memorial Hospital. She was proud to have received the Volunteer of the Year Award . She also served as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels in the northern part of Wayne County. She was a graduate of the 1938 Class at Eureka High School. The family suggest that memorials be made to St. Joseph United Methodist Church, 2020 West Church Street, Pikeville, NC 27863. The family wishes to thank the staff of Crystal Bluffs Rehabilitation & Health Care for the Love and Special Care they gave Ruth and the Davis Family while she was in residence.
