John David Person Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

GOLDSBORO – John David Person, 720 Charlie Braswell Road died Friday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center with his family by his side. Funeral Sunday 4:00 PM, Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church, 752 Stoney Creek Church Road. There will be a time of sharing with the family in the fellowship hall 3:00 to 4:00 Sunday. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Hwy 70 West, Goldsboro with military honors. . Surviving a son, David Ray Person and fiancée Jessica, David’s children, Haley & Gaby Person of Goldsboro, a daughter, Ashley Person Nuwara, (Joey Millard), her children, Lana & Zana Nuwara of Goldsboro. The love of his life Tracy Person Harrison and husband Tommy. A very special sister-in-law Debbie Morris, her son Tyler. Sisters, Ella Rose Grant (Ronnie), Margaret Lancaster (Gary), Teresa Beasley (Danny) and Judy Carol Hinson all of Goldsboro, Carla Vick (Jeff) of Pikeville. Brothers, Charles Lester Person (Paula) of Pikeville, Tommy Edward Person (Angie) of Princeton, Gary Wayne Person and Jackie Glenn Person of Goldsboro. Mr. Person a native of Goldsboro proceeded in death by his parents, Martha Ellen Jones Person and Lester Person a brother & sister, Ronnie Keith Person and Frances Jean Person. He was a member of Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church where he was a faithful servant and a member of the Good News Sunday School Class, Men’s Prayer Breakfast. Mr. Person served his country during the Vietnam War and was a retired truck driver, and a very wonderful dad & papa. We love you. Special thanks to Tommy Harrison for being a faithful friend and caregiver and also to Lester Person a special brother in kind.
