Joann Snell Beckwith Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

PIKEVILLE Joann Snell Beckwith, died Wednesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital. Once diagnosed with colon cancer in 2007, she never gave up on her faith or her determination to fight it. Even through many chemotherapy treatments, countless doctor appointments, and hospitalizations, she maintained a brave and positive outlook on life. .She smiled through the pain and continued to be a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother while continuing to work as a cosmetologist at several nursing homes in Carteret County. Being on the go and doing for others kept her striving forward. She loved her family and work dearly. During her 7-month stay in the hospital, she never once complained about her circumstances or stopped asking how others were doing. Only putting her fate in Gods hands. God provided her a new "daughter" and many new friends that became more like family in the nurses that took such wonderful care of her. JoAnne’s spirit and zest for life with be greatly missed! A service to celebrate and honor Joanne’s live will be 11:00 AM Saturday, Church Alive, 407 Hinnant Road, with Rev. Chuck Gurganus and Rev. Jimmy Miller officiating. Committal service 12:00 o’clock Monday at Coastal State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Montford Point Road, Jacksonville, NC There will be a time of visiting with the family Saturday after the service and other times Family and Friends will be welcomed at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fulcher at 285 hwy 70 Smyrna, NC on May 12, 2013 floating from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM Survived by husband, James Beckwith, Daughters; Lynn Meek Beaufort NC, Deanna Cannon Beaufort NC, Leigh Fulcher (Michael Jr.) Smyrna NC. Grandchildren, Krystale Edwards, Kristopher Edwards, Michael Sanders jr, Amanda Meek, Lindsey Cannon, Matthew Cannon, Peyton Cannon, Alex Goodwin, Hayden Fulcher, Dylan Goodwin, Alexan Fulcher.
