Clarence William Myers Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Clarence William (Sap) Myers, 68, died Saturday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by his family. Graveside, Tuesday at 11:00 am at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. Chaplain Bill Boyd will officiate. The family will receive friends follow the service and other times at 343 Ebenezer Church Road. Surviving is his daughter; Amy Lyn Myers Sauceda of Edgar Springs, MO. Granddaughters; Jaden Aileen Sauceda and Emmalea Sauceda. Sisters; Helen Diane Thornton of Newton Grove, Jane Annette Myers of Goldsboro. Brothers; Timothy L. Myers and Luby Arthur Myers both of Goldsboro, Johnny Henry Myers of Wilson and Thomas Lee Myers of Lexington. He was a native of Wayne County and was preceded in death by his parents Cherry Christine Davis Myers and Willie Lee Myers. He was affectionately known by his family and close friends as “C. W.” or “Sap”. He joined the United States Army in 1966 and was a decorated Vietnam War Veteran. Clarence Myers was awarded many metals and ribbons during his service to his country, including a National Defense Service Metal, Vietnam Service Metal with two Silver Stars, Vietnam Campaign metal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with palms Vietnam Civil Action Unit Citation, Army Service ribbon, overseas Service Ribbon “1”, Army good conduct metal (6th Award).
