Catherine D'Anna Gambella Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Catherine D’Anna Gambella, 90, passed away at the Brian Center Monday. The family will received friends Tuesday from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM and on Wednesday from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church. Other times at the home of Giles and Vera Turnage, 411 Plantation Place in Raintree Subdivision, Goldsboro. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 12:30 PM at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, 1000 N. Jefferson Avenue with Rev. Patrick Keane, O. S. F. S. , presiding. Committal service will follow at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Hwy 70 West of Goldsboro. Surviving are her children, Nicholas “Nick” and Maria Gambella, Vera G. Turnage and Giles all of Goldsboro, Diane G. and Dan Lockwood of Cary. Grandchildren: Anthony and Karen Russo, Uly and Debbie Russo, Nicky and Edna Gambella, Michael and Veronica Russo, Catherine and Mark Barratt, Gerry and Ashley Russo, Michelle and Chris Huffman, Regina and Rob Tesseneer, Ben Lockwood, Johnny and Jessica Narron, Andrew and Kira Lockwood, Will and Kristen Lockwood and Daniel Lockwood. Great grandchildren: Antonio, Katherine, Anthony, Gerry, Halley, Nicholas, Michael, Gyllian, Nicholas, Christopher, Andrew, Addison, Abigail Noel, Ryder and Aiden. Sisters and brothers: Lucy Caputo of New York, Louise Monaco of New Jersey, Gerald D’Anna of New Jersey and Anthony D’Anna of New York. Very special friends, Tiffany, Mark & Tyler Arnette, Carolyn Clark and Jan Settle. A native of New York she was preceded in death by her husband, Ulysses Dominic Gambella, her parents, Anna Porzio D’Anna and Antonio D’Anna, her daughter and son in law, Rose Ann Gambella Russo and Michael Russo, her sibling, Mary Sulfaro and Elvira D’Anna. The family of Catherine Gambella would like to express their gratitude to all of those who have shown love, sympathy and compassion as well as to the many spoken and unspoken prayers especially Tiffany, Mark, Tyler Arnette, Carolyn and Jan Settle. Thank you to the staff of the Brian Center and Home Health and Hospice for their contentious care. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations made to St. Mary’s Catholic School.
