Bonnie Lou Futrelle Mozingo, 72, went to be with her Heavenly Father Thursday morning, at her home, with her family members by her side.
She was an owner & operator of Carpel’s Florists until her health began to decline. She was a member of Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hattie Lou Elmore Futrelle and The Reverend Foy C. Futrelle.
Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Gordon E. Mozingo; daughter; Dawn Mozingo Gardner, and her daughter, Anna-Gordon Gardner, of Goldsboro; son, Chris Mozingo, April, of the home; sisters, Alice Futrelle Murphy, and husband Randy, and Joan Futrelle King, and husband, Al, both of Pikeville; her nieces, Heather Murphy Odom, and husband, Alvin, their children, Kennedy Odom and Savannah Odom; Jessica Murphy McDermott, and husband, Greg, and their children, Katelynn McDermott and Joseph McDermott; her nephews, Chase King, and wife, Heather, and Chandler King.
A funeral service will be held Sunday, March 17, 2019 at 6:00pm at Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church. The Reverends Barry Williamson and Gary Bailey will officiate. The committal service will be 11:00 am, Monday, March 18, 2019 in the Stoney Creek FWB Church cemetery. Dr. DeWayne Eakes will officiate.
The family will received friends Sunday in the Church following the Funeral Service.
The family would like to express our deepest appreciation to Community Home Care & Hospice for their loving care, compassion and service they have provided to Bonnie and our family over the past two years. A Special Thanks you to Crystal and Ashley for loving and caring for our family. We would not have survived these difficult days without your encouragement and the love you have shown Ms. Bonnie.
Shelby Small with Wages a special thank you, for encouraging Bonnie and for being such a help to Gordon. She always looked forward to the days you come to sit with her.
