GOLDSBORO - Melissa Gurley Williamson and her infant son Garrett Brinson Williamson, 316 Salem Country Lane died Wednesday at Pitt Memorial Hospital.
There will be a time of sharing with family and friends on Friday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Free Chapel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, Hwy 111 North.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM at Free Chapel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church. The Rev. Michael Williams and Rev. Willard Hardison will officiate. Interment will follow at Wayne Memorial Park, 2925 US 117 South Dudley, NC.
Surviving is her husband Billy R. Williamson, sons; Timothy "T. J." and Richard T. Sasser, daughters; Kayla and Elizabeth Sasser all of Goldsboro. Her father, Ralph T. Gurley of Goldsboro and mother Dottie C. Gurley of Goldsboro. A brother Steve Gurley and his wife Shanna and her two nephews; Gabe & Nathan of Bridgeton, NC. Also, her grandmother; Thelma Cline of MD.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents; Dave and Pauline Gurley and Marion W. Cline.
Mrs. Williamson graduated from Faith Christian Academy in 1986. She received her cosmetologist degree from Lenoir Community College. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother and a friend to many. She was employed by Cuts R Us where she loved and cared for her customers. Mrs. Williamson was also an active member of Free Chapel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.
